I've seen pictures online and albums in friend's folders. But yea, lets experience it on our own. So we got this good promotion during Matafair. A 4days 3night stay in a water bungalow at Adaaran Club Rannalhi. We traveled in the month of July. Good month to be a beach bum :p
So, the day came for us to head to Maldives. Boarded MAS and reached Male Airport at around 10pm. Our taxi (boat) was already waiting for us. We took a 30 mins ride to our mini island. There were people greeting us as we reached and we had some refreshments before heading to our water bungalow.
It was quite a walk to our water bungalow but as we walked, i realized that the water was super clear.
Beautiful water bungalow with a perfect scenery was ours for the rest of the 4 days. It was already pass 12am when we reached our bungalow. So we called it a day. I slept on the lazy chair outside of the bungalow as i was amazed by the beauty of mother nature. Such serenity and pure bliss as I closed my eyes to the sound of waves. I woke up to a very beautiful scenery at 6am as the sun rose.
We then took our bath in a clear glass bathroom facing the sea and headed for a buffet breakfast. I loved the indian food, it tasted very much keralite and headed to rent a snorkeling set for the beach. Beautiful corals indeed. At that point, i wished that my eyes could take pictures.
Day 1, we just chilled as there was free flow booze throughout the day and then went for a fishing trip where we watched the sunset and caught some fish. Well, we weren't fishermen nor we knew anything about fishing. We were noobs at this. We were given a nylon string and brought to the middle of the sea. Other tourist caught baracudas and some unknown fishes which were big but we weren't having luck. After approx 2hours of fishing, i caught a tiny fish and Gopi caught a big fish. We were happy and then called the last throw. I threw my nylon string into the sea and after a while felt a hard pull. I tried to pull my string really hard but i just couldn't. I called for help from the fishermen. They pulled and joked i might have caught a shark. I prayed that it wasn't some dead body. As the line came up, we were all shocked to see a really huge stingray caught to my bait! Everyone got excited especially ME!
And then we went back, chose the fish we wanted to have for lunch and went boozing. The next day, we went canoeing and had candle light dinner. Too bad it had to pour so we had our candlelight dinner inside the building. A very western menu with lobsters as the main course. Good meal and good company and then we headed to the bar, chilled, listened to some good music by 2 very talented people. They sung in so many languages and played the instruments too. We then called it a day and headed back to our bungalow.
Its just so much bliss to wake up to serenity so we went for a swim by our bungalow.
And later that day went deep sea snorkeling and seeing dolphins. I swam with turtles and saw a big shark at the bottom of the sea. The fishes and corals were filled with colors. Our guide, CC told us we weren't in luck to see dolphins; maybe they swam away after the rain yesterday. Sad. As we were on our way back to the island, we saw them DOLPHINS!!! We weren't that unlucky indeed. All smiles back to the island :D
We left Adaaran with a heavy heart. I would say this was one of the most memorable and serene place I have ever been. If I had extra cash some day, I will take a break at Maldives again :)
